The Top 100 Course I’ve Played – March

Kipahulu Reserve by Henrik Sundqvist

It’s another month of high turnover in the Top 100 list, where a course would have needed to hold a top 80 position in the February Top 100 list to still be featured on the March list. No course burst into the top 5 like Tye Dunes and Congressional did last month, but 4 courses made solid top 20 debuts (Kipahulu, Promenade, The Breakers, and Hiwassee Hills). 189 total courses have been reviewed since the original Top 100 list was published, with many more to come.

Exiting the Top 100

Drayton Lakes by Lez Marwick

You can never go wrong playing any course by Lez if you are looking for a very realistic-feeling round. His portfolio of courses is full of these types of courses.

Trump National Doral by Colin J. Watt

doral 3

I finally got to do a review for this course when the WGC – Cadillac came around again this year, and an update in the Tropical theme would most certainly vault this course back into the top 100.

Seashore Paspalum Links by njdevilsfan30

This is a firm and fast Links course, which can often be bad, but this one is nicely done and very playable. Definitely worth a shot if you are a firm and fast fan.

Narrow Misses

TPC Stadium Course Scottsdale by Wayne Adams

A very good rendition of the pre-renovation Scottsdale course, but unfortunately no longer reflects the course that we get to watch on TV each February.

Hillcrest Golf & CC by William Bradford

An interesting real life course in Indiana with a bit of an unorthodox design. It doesn’t stand up to some of the greatest RCR courses represented in the game, but is nicely done and worthy of a play, nonetheless.
